EARTH AND SPACE

By Grasmere Class (Year 4)

We have been looking at how the Earth moves in space and how this causes night and day and seasonal changes. We have also been using the internet to find out facts about Space. Check out our Science Internet Links to see some of them.

While searching the internet for information about Mars and the Mars Lander, we found an excellent site by somebody from NASA who worked on the Pathfinder Probe! On his website he had a design that we could follow to make a scale model of the Pathfinder probe.

We made the nets out of card so that they would be strong. The model is quite tricky to make and some of the nets are very complicated but it is well designed and fits together well. The best part is the lander. It folds up under the outer case.

Finally finished!

Our space probe is now ready to fly to mars!!
