Pavement near Kirkby Lonsdale
Just outside the
boundary of the Lake District National Park are large areas of Limestone.
The outcrops at Farleton, Birkrigg and Hutton Roof have formed into classic
limestone pavement through the effect of rain and weather.
A few miles away
lies the exciting caving and potholing region of North Yorkshire.
