Streams and Waterfalls

The Lake District is one of the rainiest places in Britain. The combination of high ground and proximity to the sea mean there is always a lot of water around.

Dungeon Ghyll (Ghyll is a Lake District name for a rocky hillside watercourse) is an example of a Lake District mountain stream.

The water is very clear and provides refreshment for both animals and walkers alike!
