Great
Gable
Great
Gable is one of the most dramatic fells in Cumbria. (We do not call them mountains.)
Its
cliffs and gulleys are popular with rock climbers and the famous pinnacle
of "Napes Needle" can be found on Gable's flank. The first ascent of "Napes
Needle" in the 19th Century is considered as the birth of Rock Climbing in
Britain.
