These conifers have been in the wood for 150 years. They are very tall and soon they will fall down. By looking at the trunk when it has been cut down you can see how old it is by counting the rings. When the conifers have fallen down there will be some more conifers to replace them. When we were at Skelghyll Woods we had 2 minutes of silence because it was the 11/11/99, and it was the rememberance day for the people who died in the war. Then we put our head against the tree and lay there for ten minutes with out talking, but some people did talk!

We had a brillant time at Skelghyll Woods and we learnt a lot about trees.
