Use our selection of JAVA based online tools to explore the properties of various regular and irregular shapes as well as mirror and rotational symmetry.

Choose one:

A CIRCLE	REGULAR HEXAGON	A CUBOID (3D)
EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE	ISOSCELES TRIANGLE	SCALENE TRIANGLE
QUADRILATERAL	RECTANGLE	KITE
	MIRROR SYMMETRY	ROTATIONAL SYMMETRY

Instructions:

Once the program has loaded you can move the vertices and points marked with red using the mouse.
To reset the shape, press 'r'

Each page has a brief selection of teaching ideas / notes. They have been developed for use by a class teacher using a computer with a class or group, although they could be used for investigations by independent groups of children.
