"Shop"

In the shop they sold fruit and vegetables. The counter faced the street.
The shop keeper usually lived above the shop. After the romans left there were no more shops in Britain for another 900 years. Shops had never existed in Britain before. In the shop we saw weighing scales, dead animals and ladders...
The weighing scales were not like ours. The man in the shop was weighing vegetables. A lady was sitting in a chair with a basket of fruit .The man was wearing a tunic . There was an amphora. It carried water and wine and it is very heavy.
