"Family house"

 

In the Roman house at Vindolanda there is a family kitchen. In the kitchen was a hearth.The hearth was used for cooking their food and for keeping them warm. There was a lady, she was cooking the dinner. The floor was covered with bracken. The walls were made of stone. Hanging on the walls were dead animals, they were used for food. In a cot was a baby. A dog was lying under a table.
