| Feeding a Guinea-Pig | |
| Guinea-pigs like eating greens like lettuce, grass
and cabbage. They like being held and they are very soft.
They like most vegetables and fruit . They are
vegeterians. More convenient and cheaper is dried mix
from the pet shop. If you get a Guinea-pig when you clean them out you should line the cage with newspaper. You could buy or ask your parents to get some shredded paper or some dry, fresh hay for bedding or for nibbling. To keep their teeth worn down give them a piece of a fruit tree branch , it should be about 6 inches long to chew on or you can buy a chew bar from your local pet shop or a vet. They will need a low heavy food bowl and a water sipper bottle. You can use kitchen and toilet rolls, boxes etc to play and chew on. You can give them a clay pipe, a pot or a bowl to climb through and in. Do not put plastic in your Guinea-Pigs cage because they will probably chew it and may choke. by Adele and Lucie CLICK HERE TO GO BACK TO RODENT ROUNDUP
