Our trip to Brockhole

Reception were invited to Brockhole to help 'launch' a new pond, we had a lovely day.We had a coach to take us to Waterhead and then we travelled by boat to Brockhole. We walked up through the gardens and watched a play with puppets. It was about the pond spirit whose job it was to care for the pond, but when winter came and the creatures hibernated she was lonely and went away. A 'litterbug' came and spoiled the pond and it took a long time to make it right again. Then we learned how to care for the environment  at the visitors centre. After lunch we went pond dipping and discovered that all sorts of creatures that we can't see live in the pond.
