Fire!

As part of our topic ' People Who Help Us' Year 1 visited Ambleside Firestation to learn about the important work of our local firefighters.

This is the fire engine with all  the equipment. There are hose pipes, a hose reel, a water tank and a ladder.

This is Adam's dad wearing a breathing mask. When Adam's
dad has been in the smoke too long without moving his alarm goes off.

Oliver and Cameron

When  the alarm goes off, the  firefighters  rush to the fire station and  put  their  suits  on. The shiny bits help people to see them.

We   are  at   the fire station  squirting the hose outside. The water came from a fire hydrant.

This  is  such a powerful  hose that 2 men need to hold it.
