The Ambleweb META tag maker

One of the secrets of getting your website noticed on the web is META tags, a couple of lines of code which tell the search engines all about your website. The program below will create META tags for your pages right here!!!.

The Year 6 Rodent Roundup gets as many visitors as the school website because of the META tags the children put into the webpage code. When a person searches for "Guinea Pigs" or "Cavies" they find the Year 6 site!

META tags are best placed on the first page of your website which should be called "index.htm" because that is the page that the web spiders and search engine robots scan for keywords.

Instructions:

Enter a Description of your webpage - Search engines will look at this for keywords. If your page is about Ancient Greeks make sure you mention Ancient Greeks in your description.

Keywords are simply words that identify what your page is about. If it was for the same Ancient Greeks page, keywords could include, ancient greeks, history, lesson, school project, trojans, etc. etc.

Think about your audience. What words would you type to find a page like yours on the Web? Put those words in the Description and Keywords boxes.

Click "Create the Tags" to make the code appear at the bottom.

Site Description
(more descriptive the better)
Up to 10 Keywords
(separated with spaces)

Here is your META - tag coding. Highlight all the contents of the box and use CTRL+C to copy it then use CTRL+V to paste it in the HEAD of your HTML document just after the <head> tag.
