A IS FOR AMBLESIDE

Ambleside is a small town at the northern end of Lake Windermere. It is a part of the lake district

and lots of tourists come here. It dates back to Roman times. The Armitt museum has some of the things they left.

Lots of the buildings in the middle of the town were built by the Victorians and you can walk round looking for

dates and finding evidence about how they were used. Most of the buildings are made of the local slate.
